Ingredient Group Hospitality is seeking a talented Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary team for a seasonal summer job that offers free housing. We're looking for a strong ExecSous Chef that can start by the end of May and work through late August/early September. The Exec Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. This seasonal job will provide free housing all season long and will will entail running 2 fast casual venues on Chautauqua Institution. One of the locations is a cafe with Chef-driven, fresh and seasonal fast casual offerings and the other venue is a lakeside taco truck serving great Mexican fare.
Duties:
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef in recipe development, staff training and scheduling.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support.
- Oversee inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
- Assist in creating new dishes and optimizing kitchen workflow.
- Manage food costing and portion control to maximize profitability.
- Support catering events and special functions as required.Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of food service management, menu planning, and inventory control.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and train kitchen staff.
- Proficiency in food handling, preparation techniques, and kitchen equipment operation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
