OVERVIEW:
Di An Di is looking to hire a SERVICE MANAGER to join our team. We are a 65+ seat Vietnamese American restaurant located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and are about to celebrate our 7th year anniversary.
Brought to you by first-generation Vietnamese Americans, Di An Di is a Vietnamese restaurant and bar with a focus on modern Vietnamese fare. Our name is an endearing Vietnamese phrase between friends and families that translates to “Let’s go eat.”
Di an Di features high-quality, locally sourced Vietnamese food that's rooted in tradition but served in a creative setting that looks and feels quintessentially New York.
THE ROLE:
The Service Manager acts as a leader of the Service team along with the General Manager. The Service Manager upholds our values, our systems, policies, service and hospitality standards. The Service Manager is responsible to help push forward the service and beverage aspects of the restaurant, and is responsible for helping to create a space where employees are respected, safe, and able to focus on working at their very best and elevating, each and every shift while creating memorable guest experiences.
The Service Manager is responsible for the oversight and taking the lead of daily services, both AM and PM shifts, as well as facilitating opening and closing duties. This Service Manager will take the lead on managing the bar.
They will work closely with the General Manager to ensure daily success in service while ensuring the success of the team, the happiness of our guests, and contributing to the overall health of the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Manage and COACH the service staff to encourage their development
Active participation in weekly management meetings.
Follow HR management protocols and model best practices.
Present and working service five shifts per week [combination of AM and PM shifts]
Engage staff on beverage, food & service knowledge.
Get the restaurant ready for service each day.
Menu, website and POS system updates as necessary
Receive, store and organize daily deliveries.
Weekly beverage inventory
Assist in ordering of dry goods, paper goods and smallwares.
Oversee consistency behind the bar as well as best practices
Train and oversee bar team as necessary
Be the lead problem solver on the floor
Excellent communication skills.
Food Protection Certificate for NYC DOH compliance.
Minimum of three years experience as a server or bartender in multiple establishments.
Proficient in reservation platforms, Indesign, Microsoft Office and Google drive.
Experience managing employees is required
Ability to stand/walk for 10+ hours per day as well as accomplish heavy lifting.
Able to work flexible hours as necessary to manage and operate the restaurant effectively, including weekends and closing shifts as needed.
