you will be responsible for assisting customers at the deli counter, preparing and serving deli products, maintaining a clean work environment, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires a passion for food and a commitment to high standards of quality and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly and assist them with their deli orders.
Answer customer questions about deli products, including meats, cheeses, and other items.
Ensure customer satisfaction by providing fast, friendly, and efficient service.
Food Preparation:
Slice, package, and label deli meats, cheeses, and other products as per customer orders.
Ensure that products are fresh, correctly portioned, and attractively displayed.
Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols while preparing and handling food.
Product Knowledge & Sales:
Keep up-to-date on product offerings and promotions to assist customers effectively.
Suggest additional items and make recommendations based on customer preferences.
Cleanliness & Organization:
Maintain a clean and organized deli counter and work area throughout the shift.
Clean deli equipment, counters, and display cases regularly.
Follow proper sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
Inventory Assistance:
Help with stocking shelves and replenishing products in the deli section.
Assist in managing product inventory and alert management when products are running low.
Team Collaboration:
Work effectively with other deli staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
Follow the direction of the deli manager or supervisor and assist with other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in food service or retail is a plus but not required.
Strong communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods.
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (training provided).
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
