We are seeking a passionate and experienced Vegan Chef to join our health-conscious café in Carroll Gardens. The ideal candidate will bring creativity and expertise to our plant-based, gluten-free menu while maintaining our commitment to quality and cleanliness.
Position Details:
- Full-time (35-40 hours weekly)
- Schedule: Wednesday-Friday & Sunday (4-11 PM), Saturday (1-10/11 PM)
- Starting immediately
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare flavorful, health-conscious vegan and gluten-free dishes
- Handle daily food prep tasks
- Maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness
- Perform closing duties including thorough cleaning of café/restaurant areas
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service
-Head of cleaning for the cafe upstairs & downstairs.
Requirements:
- Experience as a cook or prep cook, preferably with vegan cuisine
- Knowledge of and passion for plant-based cooking and baking
- Understanding of gluten-free food preparation
- Valid NYC Food Handler's License (required) or getting it asap
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Physical stamina for standing, cleaning, and kitchen work
- Commitment to cleanliness and food safety standards
