A Bartender at the Roxy Hotel must have weekend availability, excellent communication and guest service skills, along with the ability to serve and prepare classic cocktails and specialty cocktails, and demonstrate a deep understanding of spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

o Own the guest experience, welcome and listen to guest preferences in order to ensure guest satisfaction

o Provide genuine, professional service as defined by The Roxy’s Service Culture. Follow through with guest requests; ensure

service is timely, accurate and maintains a high service standard

o Maintain a meticulously clean/organized workspace, in accordance with look book standards set, and inventory par

levels

o An eye for detail along with the ability, understanding, and skills of drink mixing and techniques - pour with a

jigger, mix to

proper dilution, utilize proper shaking techniques

o Prepare alcohol or non-alcoholic drinks per specification books and training, for our Bar & Lounge guests

o Set and serve guest dining setups, offer an in-depth understanding of the beverage and food menu and Hotel services

offered

o Maintain and exceed DOH standards

o Maintain current TIPs training

o Check identification to ensure guests are all of the legal age to purchase alcohol.

o Accurately handle cash, credit and room charge transactions

QUALIFICATIONS

o 3+ years of experience working in high volume & fine dining with specialty cocktail program

o Extensive knowledge of spirits, wines and non-alcoholic beverages – origins, creation and character

o Mixology knowledge, understanding and ability to use bar tools effectively to create craft cocktails

o Excellent in guest service, and the ability to maintain professional service during peak periods

o Knowledge of food and all allergies related to food and beverage

o Experience maintaining DOH standards above and beyond what is expected

o Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal

o Provide legible communication.

o Must be TIPs Certified

o Compute basic arithmetic

o Have the ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, carry multiple objects

o Excel in all guest service opportunities. Anticipate and understand guest’s service needs.

o Ensure the work area is properly set for service, as directed by management

o Complete accurate inventory and maintain par levels for all required ingredients and tools behind the bar

o Maintain DOH standards throughout shift and a clean workspace

o Deep clean work spaces during downtime and before checking out on every shift

o Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment. Demonstrate ownership of the

guest

experience

o Follow directions thorough to completion

o Multitask while preparing beverages for guest as well as dealing with high volume of service

o Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. Build team morale

o Expected to complete task in timely manner

o Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
