- Set and maintain the roadmap.Contribute to the vision for the Investment Experience and build a roadmap that drives toward that vision. Distill the roadmap into actionable deliverables and milestones and evangelize this roadmap to your engineering team and stakeholders.
- Execute the roadmap.Convert the roadmap into robust specifications andefficiently develop those as enterprise-grade software in close, hands-on partnership with your engineering team.Drive priority decisions and create an environment for your engineering team to execute efficiently.
- Market expertise.Be a student of the U.S. wealth management ecosystem, with expertise in investment products, implementation within SMAs, and trading. Leverage depth in the portfolio management discipline to design and improve daily workflows for portfolio managers, risk managers, and traders. Develop unique opinions on developments in the space to inform our roadmap.
- CommerciallyOriented. Learn and understandthe economics of the wealth market, technology firms, and BlackRock, and able to drive economic decisions in roadmap planning, prioritization, and resource allocation.
- Technical acumen. Able to envision and designtechnically-feasibleintegrations, coordinating detailed specification work across our product and engineering teams and taking into account user experience, operational scale, and implementation cost.
- Stakeholdermanagement.This role engages with BlackRock's SMA investment professionals as well as our Operations, Sales, and L&C teams.These teams are our partners and stakeholders. Theproduct manager is expected to develop productive relationships with stakeholdersanditerate on the engagement model between the Investment Experience product team and stakeholder teams.
- UX design. Working closely with your UX design counterparts, design user experiences and workflows with a deep understanding of and empathy for investment professional users. Relentlessly work to improve our UX in pursuit of user delight.
- 4-7+ years of meaningful experiencein wealth management or asset management in investment, product management, or technology-centric roles.
- Track record ofdeveloping and launching new technology features and capabilities.
- Broad understanding of capital markets, financial instruments, asset allocation, and portfolio optimization. Familiarity with multi-factor models for portfolio risk.
- Prior experience as a portfolio manager or trader, or deep knowledge of these workflows from a support role. CFA designation is a plus.
- Experience working with a highly technical product, including ability to get into the weeds on technical features to engage in technical solutioning. Experience with building and maintaining APIs is a plus.
- Proven ability to drive prioritization decisions and work hands-on with engineers to build and ship new capabilities.
- Experience managing internal stakeholders and synthesizing user feedback.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and communicate up and down the organization.
- Strong interpersonal,problem-solving,and planning skills.
