Job DescriptionThe Milton and Carroll Petrie Department of Urology has long been a leader in clinical practice, education, and research. Faculty in our Department, which is housed within the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, perform complex procedures using robotics, laparoscopy, and endoscopy, all as a part of our minimally invasive urologic surgery program. We remain equally committed to engaging in breakthrough research while training the next generation of leaders in the field.The Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and coordination of business, administrative and general office or practice activities. The Supervisor provides direct supervision for assigned staff, including but not limited to contract management, financial and/or administrative staff and clerical staff. The Supervisor ensures the successful coordination and delivery of business activity and service within the department.Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred, or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
5 years of directly related experience with 1 year in a supervisory role or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Responsibilities
Plans and schedules work for contract management, finance and administrative staff to ensure proper distribution of assignments and adequate staffing, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
Ensures adequate staffing for unexpected/emergency coverage.
Provides work direction, guidance, coaching and training for staff.
Establishes, reviews and revises work processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective administrative activities.
Makes recommendations regarding fiscal and staffing requirements of the unit to assist in the preparation of budgetary recommendations.
Compiles information reflecting expenditures and develops comparisons.
Assists in the development of new methods, procedures and/or processes to increase efficiency and to improve service deliver, production, equipment performance, scheduling and quality control.
Establishes and maintains liaison with other departments, units or care centers, as well as within own department, to ensure effective coordination of work activities.
Fosters an environment of open communication and team work in support of the department and organizations goals and objectives.
Ensures compliance with department and organization policies & procedures.
Supervises and coordinates various personnel activities including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, training, disciplining and making salary increase recommendations.
Performs other related duties.

The salary range for the role is $65074.21 - $88900 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
