Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the non-profit industry, based in New York, New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for several accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger management. Responsibilities: Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy. Manage the General Ledger, including making necessary journal entries. Participate in the month-end close process. Operate various accounting software including Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, and Sage Intacct. Leverage the Intacct ERP system for efficient financial management. Contribute to grant accounting, an important aspect of non-profit financial management. Assist in audit procedures when necessary.Note: Candidates with 3-5 years of experience in non-profit finance, grant accounting, Sage Intacct, and audit experience are highly desirable. Requirements Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related area Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations Familiarity with General Ledger management and Journal Entries Experience with Month End Close procedures Knowledge of Oracle financial software Proficiency in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks Familiarity with SAP accounting software Experience in using Sage Intacct and Intacct ERP systems Ability to work in a non-profit environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
