Staff Accountant

Description We are in search of an organized Staff Accountant to join our clients team in the retail industry, specifically in the clothing and accessories sector. The role is based in New York and offers a 6 month-term contract employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be tasked with performing duties such as cash deposit reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and store credit and gift card reconciliations.Responsibilities: Conducting heavy cash deposit reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner Managing bank reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are accounted for Handling store credit and gift card reconciliations to maintain accurate records Utilizing SAP for various accounting tasks and processes Generating and preparing journal entries for month-end close Maintaining the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures Applying your experience in the retail sector to enhance and streamline financial operations Addressing and resolving any issues or discrepancies in financial reports and statements.Requirements Must have proficiency in Bank Reconciliations Experience with General Ledger necessary Ability to prepare Journal Entries is required Demonstrable experience with Month End Close Proficiency in SAP is essential Experience with Cash Deposits needed Must be able to perform Cash Reconciliations Experience with Credit Card Reconciliation is a must Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
