Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect (SA) who will be responsible for the technology strategy and senior level relationships with our global enterprise media customers, as well as thought leadership in the Media & Entertainment (M&E) industry. The AWS Principal Solutions Architect (SA) is responsible for educating customers, partners, systems integrators, and strategic consultancies on emerging technologies and solutions that are transforming the M&E industry, particularly in Media Supply Chain solution areas. They help with hands-on architecture for real-life customer projects involving AWS services, Independent Software Vendor (ISV)/partner solutions. They also work with cross Amazon teams to design outcome based holistic solutions for our strategic M&E opportunities. The Principal SA builds and publishes content and collateral, and presents to customers in 1:1 and 1:many settings. They work with customers remotely and in person.This role consists of at least 30% travel, including some international.Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. This role will see around corners and identify applications of emerging technologies to reduce friction, eliminate waste, and re-invent customer workflows with industry/cloud-based tools and architectures. The SA delivers written and spoken communications to establish AWS as the public cloud of choice for media organizations looking to accelerate revenue growth and improve return on assets.This position will work with:

Large scale media libraries including migrations to cloud

Content ingest technologies/workflows

Content and metadata automated discovery and enhancement technology/workflows, including Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML)

Content and library usage analytics

Content packaging and delivery

Content Localization including GenAI enhancement

Storage systems for media and entertainment such as Content Lakes and Content Archives, Media Asset Management, and Production Asset Management systems

Modern Direct-To-Consumer delivery platforms and associated technologies such as HLS, MPEG-DASH, SSAI, ultra-low latency streaming,

The Solutions Architect leader will also work with modern media supply chain systems including:

Partner solutions used widely in the M&E industry

Media and metadata delivery and packaging standards for on-air, Over-the-Top (OTT), digital cinema, mobile

Serverless compute platforms and architecture patterns

Storage and architectural patterns around distributed systems

Big Data Analytics

About the teamYou will be part of a team of worldwide AWS Media and Entertainment Specialist Solutions Architects engaging customers locally and sharing knowledge globally. We all learn from a diverse pool of expertise coupled with on the ground practical knowledge gained from Working Backwards from our customer needs.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Atlanta, GA, USA | Chicago, IL, USA | New York, NY, USA | Santa Monica, CA, USABasic Qualifications

10+ years of experience in technology architecture roles within large enterprise media organizations or partners with a focus on media supply chain technologies.

5+ years of experience working with integrated content ingest, library, enhancement, and delivery workflows including knowledge of content production, direct-to-consumer, analytics, MAM, content lakes, and content metadata

5+ years of experience designing and measuring the effectiveness of complex media supply chain workflows.

Experience in architecting complex distributed use cases leveraging AWS services and multi-vendor environments

Preferred Qualifications

Breadth of experience across IT and/or practical M&E industry experience in multiple of the following areas:

Software design or development; Infrastructure architecture; Distributed systems; Content/Data Security; Data Center Operations; Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and Big Data Analytics

Prior Hands-on AWS experience and deep knowledge of cloud architectures

Expert level technical acumen, including the ability to understand the customer and partner landscape, identify opportunities and overcome technical obstacles, ultimately influencing the adoption of AWS services.

Expert level ability to understand the business domain of the customer or partner and the business problems the customer or partner is facing, with the intent to solve the business problems.

Expert level ability to interact with senior leadership (e.g. CxO’s) within a customer or partner organization.

The base pay for this position ranges from $122,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market.
