This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in (Location). This salary range may also be modified in the future.About the Role:This position will be responsible for maintaining and developing the existing software platform used by the energy trading team. This is a hands-on, technical role in a highly collaborative team. Responsibilities will include development of software new and old across many aspects of our business. As the experience grows, the candidate will also contribute to more general design and architecture questions.ResponsibilitiesWhat you will do:
Build and maintain on-prem and cloud native (e.g. Azure, AWS) solutions using tools and frameworks including but not limited to python/R/Git/Conda/Docker/Excel/PowerBI on Windows and Linux platforms.
Collaborate with the trading team to identify future needs and implement system solutions
Support business analysis, product design, data engineering, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Interact with third-party data providers to help implement in-house analytical tools to support trading decisions
Document existing process/infrastructure setups; schedule regular meetings with relevant business group to showcase new system capabilities
QualificationsWe want you on our team because you…
1 - 3 years of experience programming
Hold a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or other related fields
The ideal candidate will be familiar with troubleshooting methodologies and will be capable of engaging end-users to support and enhance custom built solutions.
Can maintain data pipeline and front-end query services built on R/Shiny
Are familiar with running services on Linux / in the cloud that are securely accessible from within a corporate network
Ability to maintain an internal Git repository and support user python environments
Have worked with databricks/snowflake-like data warehousing SaaS systems
Ideally, you also have
Familiarity with commonly traded financial products, including Swaps, Futures and PPAs
Familiarity with exotic and structured products, such as Heat Rate Call Options
Familiarity with the Commodity Futures market, with focus on North American Power and Natural gas
