Job DescriptionSenior Technical Program Manager Exciting Opportunity at MSK We are seeking aSenior Technical Program Managerto join the Core Operations Team within the Digital Informatics and Technology Solutions (DigITs), MSK’s information technology (IT) division, which enables MSK’s strategy through digital expertise, reliable services, and trusted partnering. The Core Operations team is part of DigITs IT Business Management function and is responsible for the effectiveness of the DigITs operating model, serves as the communication and nerve center for DigITs, and provides administrative and project support to the technology organization. Role Overview:
Lead overall health and effectiveness of the new DigITs operating model, working closely with senior DigITs leadership to ensure key services and workflows operate seamlessly.
Track and communicate changes to the organizational operating model, including team structures, product and service offerings, and key accountabilities.
Create and maintain a dynamic organizational chart of the current DigITs team service mappings as well as team purpose and descriptions.
Develop a strategy for ongoing measurement and improvement of the IT department’s organizational goals by collaborating with leaders to collect these goals, ensuring each group has specific, well-defined goals, and identifying common themes. Periodically follow up with leaders to review progress and develop comprehensive reports for leadership.
To assess organization-wide performance, it is essential to establish metrics that determine the organization’s health and effectiveness, allowing leadership to periodically evaluate it. Through industry-leading practices, define, collect, organize, and prioritize metrics from various teams.
The organizational performance metrics will be dynamic, with adjustments made to track what is most important over time. Regularly monitor progress, create recommended action plans to maintain organizational health and effectiveness, and track these action plans to completion.
Conduct periodic analyses of organizational structures to enhance the delivery of technology products and services. Review, assess, and flag ongoing connections and overlaps across functions.
Leveraging your technology expertise, partner with HR and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess workflows and intake processes, as well as identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Create customized plans addressing unique organizational challenges and needs. For example, collaborate with user advocacy and informatics teams to understand how end users receive products and services.
Utilize data and analytics to track progress, identify trends, and optimize plans as needed.
Key Qualifications:
5-8 years of relevant experience working in a technology organization. Must understand how technology organizations function and deliver products and services. Hands-on experience working with technology is a plus.
Experience in helping technology leaders navigate changes on initiatives, process improvement, and/or other change management efforts is highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, diagnose technology operating model challenges, and propose effective solutions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in using organizational assessment tools, project management software, and data analysis tools.
Demonstrated project management expertise, with the ability to lead multiple initiatives.
