Req Number 17951Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGuides ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians, and physicians.Job ResponsibilityPerforms a variety of eye care duties to assist physicians in the examination and treatment of eye disorders, using knowledge of advanced ophthalmic techniques and procedures.
Preparing examination and treatment rooms, reviewing the appointment schedule, performing basic and routine vision screening examinations.
Administers eye medications.
Cleans and maintains ophthalmic instruments.
Assists physicians during minor surgical and laser procedure.
Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.
Job QualificationAssociate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Current Ophthalmic Assistant Certification required, or Current Certified Eye Bank Technician Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
