OverviewResponsiblefor maintaining, evaluating, and continuously improving Canon’s Safety Governance System and Incident and Injury Prevention Program, and ensures all policies and procedures are in compliance with company, local, state, and OSHA regulations. Manages a team of safety professionals and serves as a consultant to all business functions regarding safety related issues and initiatives. In partnership with Senior Director, Safety, Training & Development, and teamdesigns, develops, and implements training/certification programs and initiatives to mitigate risk and reduce incidents and property damage. Responsible for overseeing Incident Management System (Benchmark Gensuite), safety reporting, and compliance systems (e.g., Avetta, Complyworks, ISNetworld).Responsibilities

Oversees Safety Governance System and Incident & Injury Prevention Program. Develops or updates safety policies and procedures to mitigate risk in the workplace and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.

Manages team of safety specialists and organizesworkflow aligned with Safety Objectives. Ensures team understands expectations of role and Provides constructive feedback, performance management and coaching.

Responsible for the analysis, design, development, and implementation of all safety education and training programs for site and corporate/regional employees to maintain a safe work environment and adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.

Design, develop, implement, and updatenew hire safety orientation and training program.

Responsible for Incident Management System to ensure all leading and lagging indicators are captured and reported.Ensures team conducts all safety investigations and executes plans for corrective actions. Monitors sites to ensure inspections and audits take place. Maintain accurate records of safety documents, training, inspections, and incidents across all company locations.

Prepares monthly and annual safety dashboards and reports for site, regional, and company to present safety metrics, progress, and trends.

Consults with sales and operations, as well as perspective clients, for new business opportunities to evaluate safety needs; leads team in creation and implementation of new hire training and site-specific safety plans.

Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining all company Safety Certifications Programs (e.g., Powered Industrial Vehicles, DOT, IATA, IMDG, CDL, etc.). Auditing sites to ensure compliance.

Assists in conducting and coordinating train the trainer program for various types of Powered Industrial Vehicles including forklifts, order pickers, powered pallet jacks, etc.

Partners with warehouse and distribution sites to create site specific safety plans to mitigate risk and reduce incidents and property damage in the workplace.

Responsible, in partnership with Operations, for maintaining and updating X-Ray Standard Operations Manual.

Collaborates with business partners to design regional and site specific

Responsible for National Safety Committee and conducts Quarterly National Safety Meetings.

Researchesand makes recommendations regarding safety tools and

Assists Senior Director, Safety, Training & Development in creating safety strategy, policies and

Performs other duties as requested by Director or client representatives to support Human Resources

QualificationsPHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS/MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS

Approximately 50% Travel required, or as needed

Operate industrial equipment

Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 25 lbs.

Mental qualifications include ability to design and facilitate efficient and effective training programs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

49 CFR Hazardous Materials, IATA and IMDG Dangerous Goods

Certification Powered Industrial Truck/Vehicle (e.g., forklift, powered pallet jack, order pickers, etc.)

OSHA trainer (General Industry and/or Construction)- preferred

Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer (CET), preferred

Bachelor’s Degree, Environmental, Health, & Safety required or equivalent work experience

5+ years’ experience in industrial manufacturing, logistics and distribution and/or pharmaceutical industries

5+ years designing and developing safety and health training

5+ years managerial or supervisory experience

5+ years PIV experience (Forklift a must)

3+ years of Incident Management System (e.g., Gensuite) experience

DOT/CDL compliance, preferred

Proficientknowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio,

Advanced knowledge of authoring tools (i.e. Articulate, Captivate, Lectora, Camtasia), LXP/LMS, and web conferencing tools (i.e., WebEx, MS Teams)

Ability to manage and supervise others

Advanced knowledge of instructional design concepts, WBT, best practices and technologies
