NYC Parks manages more than 30,000 acres or 14% of the city’s land, encompassing more than 5,000 individual properties. Our diverse set of assets includes recreational facilities, nature centers, historic buildings and structures, golf courses, athletic fields, playgrounds, tennis courts, public pools, public restroom buildings, retaining walls and nearly 14 miles of beaches. Major Responsibilities

Under general supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment perform difficult and responsible administrative work supporting the Staten Island Administrative Services.

Coordinate the onboarding of applicants including application submission, finger printing, taking photo IDs and gathering background check information.

Serve as liaison between the SI Administrative Services and Central Human Resources and Workforce Development.

Conduct new hire orientation and training for Staten Island staff.

Prepare and track a range of weekly, monthly, annual, and ad hoc reports utilizing programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), Citytime, and Salesforce.

Maintain accurate records regarding staff, trainings and required employment documentation.

Assist Chief and Deputy Chief of Operations, Chief and Deputy Chief of Administrative Services and Borough management with the placement, planning and management of HR projects and others as assigned.

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or

Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
