Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. Purpose of Position: The Isaacs Center’s Beacon Program is seeking a dynamic individual who will oversee the overall development, implementation and daily operations of the Beacon Program including administration and supervision of the Beacon Program. This person must be innovative, creative, and detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills that will promote a proactive, high energy work ethic and positive work environment. Schedule:Monday to Friday; occasional Saturdays. Flexible schedule 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Salary Range:$68,400 to $77,000 Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

Ensure implementation of a quality youth and community program

Oversee after school and evening program activities for elementary, middle school children, teens, and adults.

Oversee 8-week summer camp program for all ages of youth.

Coordinate with school staff on all programs, space use and safety issues.

Serve as liaison with government funding agencies and related community programs.

Develop new community partnerships that enhance Beacon programming.

Collaborate with GR administration and program directors and relate organization information to staff.

Facilitate quarterly advisory committee meetings with school & community partners.

Develop program budget and monitor program expenses against budget.

Plan, implement and participate in city wide advocacy to preserve Beacon funding.

Prepare program reports and oversee program evaluations and improvement plans.

Ensure the program is in compliance with mandated requirements.

Oversee program evaluation.

Perform crisis intervention as needed.

Partner with School Principal(s), teachers, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure that the participants, and their families, needs are being met.

Staff Supervision

Recruit, hire, train and evaluate program staff.

Lead regular staff meetings to discuss program components.

Provide training opportunities for staff.

Arrange staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage.

Other

Partner with GRCC management to set clear expectations and outcomes of the program.

Serve on the Beacon Program Leadership Team

Attend staff meetings, case conferences, supervision meetings and training programs.

Other tasks as required.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

An Associate's degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field; or T wo Years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field; or a New York State Children's Program Administrator credential; or a School Age Child Care Credential or other Office recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period.

Two years of direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a childcare program or related field of work

Must be proficient on Microsoft Office Applications

Exceptional interpersonal skills

Ability to meet government contractual requirements of multiple program elements.

Preference for fluency in English and Spanish

Must pass mandatory screening such as SCR and NYCPS fingerprinting.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in English. Fluency in Spanish desirable

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have/be:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements

Frequent bending, kneeling, walking –include participating in program activities with program participants.
