Job Overview:As Mitchell-Lama Coordinator you will assist the Mitchell-Lama Specialist with resident occupancy related matters in the assigned portfolio of buildings. You will assist with ensuring all policies and procedures are being followed related to occupancy, transfers, and succession in accordance with NYC HPD’s Mitchell Lama rules and regulations, the Board of Directors requirements, as appropriate, and all local, state and federal regulations.Your Responsibilities:

Assist with review of applicant waiting lists.

Send out applications and review documents for approval.

Act as liaison with management company, boards, NYC HPD and potential residents.

Responsible for filing, scanning and preparing closing documents for approved sales.

Assist specialist with facilitating resale closings.

Maintaining accurate books and records for each corporation, including keeping the corporate records of the Owner up-to-date, including the stock book, and list of all owners, also known as a “shareholder list”, and keeping the FSR accounting department updated on that information and any changes.

Responsible for income certifications including sending annual forms, assist in completion of forms, review forms and calculate charges, provide new charges to accounts receivable, answer inquiries from owners, boards and regulatory authorities about charges

Assist with any audits and/or other inquiries related to the assigned buildings, including any investigations from regulatory authorities, and/or building accountants.

Assist Mitchell-Lama specialist with any additional necessary ad hoc projects

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum 1 year of clerical experience preferred.

Analytical skills, an eye for detail, good organizational skills, excellent verbal and strong written communication skills.

Ability to handle and resolve client complaints and address these complaints appropriately.

Ability to work under tight time pressures, handle multiple projects and prioritize work tasks.

PC experience in a Windows-based environment and experience with various common software packages.
