JOB DESCRIPTION Bathhouse seeks an attentive, organized, hands-on, detail-oriented Life Guard/Pool Attendant that has open availability to join the Bathhouse Team at our Flatiron, NY, location. Lifeguards are expected to act in a professional manner to everyone and provide great guest service while ensuring that the pool area is safe, maintained and cleaned. Must be able to work weekends, some weekdays, and holidays. Experience and certification required. This role will be an integral part of the team, responsible for providing high-quality service to Bathhouse guests by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment for guests to use our facilities. One of the roles of the lifeguard is to keep our pool and sauna areas clean, maintained and safe during operating hours from 9 am to midnight. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure the safety and well-being of all guests: Minimize and mitigate hazardous situationsProvide quick response to emergency situationsEnforce all pool and area rules politely and courteouslyEnsure all guest areas are safe, clean, and orderly Maintain cleanliness and order: Keep pool areas clean of towelsSqueegee the floorsKeep bathrooms cleaned and stockedIn the treatment area, use an iPad to notify or introduce guests to their therapists Professional conduct: Display a professional appearance with the Bathhouse dress codeBe timely and punctualBe knowledgeable on all bathhouse information and programmingOther duties as assigned by the manager DESIRED SKILLS Educational and Certifications: High school education or comparable work experienceValid CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First AidValid Lifeguarding (Deep Water) or Shallow Water Lifeguarding certification not expiring within 2 monthsCertified Pool Operator certificate (CPO optional) Personal and Professional Skills: Effective leadership skills and strong work ethicExcellent customer service skillsEnergetic, enthusiastic, and motivationalProfessional manner, discretion, and appearanceInitiative, decision-making, and problem-solving abilitiesPositive attitude towards job and facilityProfessionalism, confidence, and tactful communicationCooperation and teamwork skillsIntegrity, punctuality, dependability, responsibilityEffective verbal/written communicationAdaptability under stressful situations Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for long periodsProper body mechanics awarenessAbility to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talkUse hands to operate objects, tools, or controlsLift a person (avg. 150 lbs) from pool bottom and out of waterWork in varied conditions (heat, cold, humidity, uneven or slippery surfaces)Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Job Type: Full-time.
