Description Our client, a prominent plaintiff-side personal injury law firm, is looking for a motivated Legal Secretary to join their team. The Legal Secretary will provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals.Responsibilities:Drafting and sending out basic correspondence including letters, memos, and emails.Requesting medical records as required for each case.Tracking calendars and deadlines related to court dates, filings, and other important events.Communicating with clients in a professional and courteous manner, responding to their inquiries, and providing them with updates on their cases.Maintain and keep up to date with our case management systems, keeping items well-organized and easily accessible.Uphold confidentiality of sensitive information while complying with all legal standards and protocols.Utilize the New York State Courts Electronic Filing system (NYSCEF) to manage case filings and records.Qualifications:3+ years of experience as a plaintiff personal injury legal assistant. Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is imperative for the creation and management of documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.Experience with NYCAF e-filing system is required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills including professional phone etiquette.Attention to detail and good organization skills - managing a myriad of tasks and deadlines without letting anything slip through the cracks.Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Requirements Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Secretary Proficiency in legal assistance is required Prior experience in handling Personal Injury Plaintiffs' cases is mandatory Demonstrated ability to manage e-Filing systems effectively Must possess strong communication and organizational skills Knowledge of legal terms, regulations and court procedures is essential Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Excellent multitasking skills and the ability to meet deadlines Previous experience in a fast-paced legal firm is desirable Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
