Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Junior Accountant in the Marketing/PR industry located in New York, New York, 10036, United States. As a Junior Accountant, you will be integral in managing both accounts payable and receivable, contributing to monthly closing processes, and assisting with other key accounting functions.Responsibilities: Managing accounts payable, which includes coding and recording vendor invoices Reviewing expense reimbursement requests and monthly credit card expenses Onboarding new vendors and ensuring appropriate documentation and spending limit approvals are in place Assisting in the accounts receivable procedures, including coding and recording daily client cash receipts Coordinating with account teams on billing schedules and ensuring timely billing processes Assisting in managing client data on the portal and preparing weekly AP and AR reports Adhering to the closing calendar and assisting in preparing monthly closing schedules, tasks, reconciliations, and journal entries Preparing and issuing year-end documents, such as 1099s Compiling, verifying, and analyzing financial information to support strategic and operational decision-making Assisting with various additional tasks within the finance team as required. Requirements Proficiency in accounting software systems is required, particularly experience with Dynamics NAV and QuickBooks. Strong understanding and experience with account coding and coding invoices. Familiarity with ERP Solutions is beneficial. Demonstrable ability in account analysis, accounting entries, and accounting functions. Experience in account reconciliation and managing accounts payable (AP). Knowledge in handling customer invoices. Ability to use Adobe Acrobat for document management. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
