This position is essentially a software engineer specializing within Java to operate in a business risk officer position.

Salaries: $150,000 - $175,000 (depending upon experience) + benefits

Location: Dallas, Tampa or New York (2 days on site in an office location)

The Business Risk Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness.

Responsibilities:

Work with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team to help design and develop software or other capabilities that provide corrective action for Information Security (IS) gaps and ensure the software engineering team's risk exposure meets requirements or industry best practicesFacilitate the implementation of approved IS tools and identify/recommend new or improved security solutions or emerging technologiesAutomate manual activities as new features are added to the platform.Mitigate risk by analyzing the root cause of issues, impacts to business, and required corrective actions and develop security solutionsEnsure IS compliance during the software development lifecycle and seek opportunities to enhance the efficiency of IS policies and proceduresIdentify significant IS threats and vulnerabilities, and define appropriate controls for discovered threats, documenting the business responseDisseminate changes to IS regulations and standards to Business and Program ownersProvide Information Security advice and counsel as needed

Qualifications/experience:

6+ years of relevant experienceSoftware development experience (Java on Linux)Operational support experience is preferredAdditional technical certifications are preferredDemonstrated ability to research and apply current information regarding the IS fieldConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationProven influencing and relationship management skillsProven analytical skills
