Duties Description Under the oversight of the Lead Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for providing confidential support, information, assessment, and referral and follow-up services to employees and their families with personal and/or work-related problems. The EAP Coordinator will carry out these duties in a confidential, timely, and professional manner, demonstrate professional and ethical behavior in keeping with the EAP Program Coordinator role, and will also perform the following functions: Follow policies and procedures of the New York State EAP program, and assist with committee functions as required. Assist in the implementation of agency training programs for supervisors, union representatives, and employees. Help coordinate crisis response services, including needs assessments, referrals to resources, individual assessment and referral services, monitoring the situation, individual grief sessions, and training. Identify and be knowledgeable about local community, public and private agencies and resources on an ongoing basis. The Coordinator will create and maintain a resource file and become familiar with available services and any fees or restrictions associated with those services, including being knowledgeable about insurance benefits as well as being able to access information for agency employees. Attend agency EAP committee meetings, giving input and suggestions when needed. Complete and submit a monthly statistical report to Statewide EAP, the EAP Committee Chairperson, and the Lead EAP Coordinator. Attend all scheduled NYS EAP sponsored or recommended professional development training, conferences, and workshops. Provide orientations and promotional presentations or trainings, as needed. Assist with administrative duties as needed. Maintain regular communication with the Chairperson, Regional Representative and NYS DOH/HRI/OMIG Lead EAP Coordinator. Additional Comments Full-time permanent appointment. Transfer candidates, you may be asked for a Social Security Number to verify your transfer eligibility. Travel throughout the New York State metropolitan region to areas not served by public transportation will be required. Depending on candidate qualifications, the position may be filled at the Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 or 2 levels.
