Job DescriptionAPPLICANTS MUST BE PERMANENT IN THE CLERICAL ASSOCIATE CIVIL SERVICE.The New York City Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) works every day to implement the city’s Human Rights Law through enforcement, education, and outreach. The Commission seeks to address historic and contemporary inequities to cultivate a city where everyone can live, work, and thrive free from discrimination.Through training, education, and policy initiatives, the Commission aims to root out discrimination. The Commission proactively identifies patterns of discrimination through testing employers, housing providers, and providers of public accommodation. The Commission also uses investigations, litigation, and other enforcement tools to address allegations of discrimination.The Commission is seeking a detailed-oriented and analytical financial associate to join our finance team. The financial associate will play a critical role in the financial planning and analysis process, budgeting and financial reporting. The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director of Finance and will be responsible for:
Assist in the preparation and management of procurement solicitations, purchase order, storehouse requisitions and payment packages.
Process invoices for payments and ensure accurate record-keeping in our internal database.
Provide programmatic staff with oversight, administrative spending, technical assistance and maintain tracking of funding and budgeting.
Review and track programmatic and administrative spending; maintain tracking and reconciliation of direct service contracts status and budget.
Serve as the lead facilitator and coordinate all procurement trainings for staff, small groups and external stakeholders.
Create, develop and facilitate trainings for procurement processes including but not limited to training guides, lesson plans and other training aids needed to impart information on agency procedures.
Manage the agency bank account including but not limited to monthly deposits, reconciliation reports, and compliance reporting.
Act as a liaison for sibling agencies such Office of Management and Budget, and Comptroller's Office.
Perform all duties as needed to advance the work of the Finance department.
CLERICAL ASSOCIATE - 10251QualificationsQualification Requirements A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
