Description There is an opening for a Financial Analyst at a fast-growing, dynamic team via Robert Half —the Financial Analyst will be a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. This Financial Analyst role, which is a long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity, is based in the New York, New York, area. On an average day, the Financial Analyst will conduct financial modeling on various financial products as well as measure, analyze and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans. Your duties will also include advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and preparing reports for management.Your responsibilities in this role

Participate in planning with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

Monitor monthly and quarterly performance by comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources effectively

Flexible individual that feels comfortable operating under high expectations while dealing with a large amount of information- Create effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and recommendation support

Understand and communicate internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

Own monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

Oversee the monthly and quarterly financial close process by working with Accounting

Assess potential risks and opportunities and research performance

Assemble and overview forecasting reports

Support contacts in Accounting and Operations to execute business plans

Contribute to weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting Requirements - Firm understanding of problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions

Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferential)

Sound written and verbal communication skills

BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

Well-founded grasp of analysis

Account analysis experience preferred

Month end closings experience

Command of financial analysis

Proven knowledge of financial reporting

Budgeting experience highly desired

Microsoft Excel experience desired

Candidates with Spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized

Experience with financial data management processes & systems, e.g. Oracle/Hyperion/SAP Business Objects/SFDC/Tableau
