Find your place in finance on #TeamAmex.How will you make an impact in this role?As American Express continues along an impressive growth trajectory, the Company will ascend the ranks of the Federal Reserve’s bank categorization and be subject to heightened requirements in the liquidity, capital, regulatory reporting, and risk domains. American Express is pursuing Project Fast Forward to uplift capabilities to deliver on these new requirements. A Program Management Office (PMO) has been established to oversee this multi-year transformation initiative that is critical to American Express’ continued success. We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to help lead this strategic transformation.The Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing all phases of a project workstream, ensuring that it is delivered on time, within scope, and with the right governance. The role will require collaborating closely with members of the PMO team to drive key outcomes across global business partners, including senior leaders. This is a high-impact position that requires a hands-on approach to interacting with and influencing cross functional teams. The Manager will need to be dynamic, adaptable, and demonstrate ability to draw connections while leveraging prior experiences to make a positive impact on the project. Additionally, Manager will have the opportunity to build subject matter skills and support select project deliverables in partnership with business teams. The breadth of the project will also provide opportunity to build a strong network across Finance and beyond.Responsibilities:

Comprehensive project management from project plan design to execution of key deliverables

Track progress against key milestones including managing risks, issues, and changes while proactively identifying solutions to keep the project on track

Coordinate and lead cross functional teams ensuring clear communication and collaboration across stakeholders

Prepare regular project updates to senior leadership

Apply governance standards consistently across a broad set of stakeholders

As needed, support select project workstream deliverables

Minimum Qualifications:

5 years of relevant experience.

Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and positively influence at all levels.

Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple deliverables and priorities simultaneously.

Highly motivated self-starter and quick learner with ability to think strategically, while also focusing on tactical aspects of project execution.

Superb communication skills to synthesize key messages, prepare impactful materials, and tailor appropriately for the audience.

Team player comfortable working collaboratively to problem solve and navigate challenges and changes in a dynamic environment.

Flexible and adaptable as well as comfortable with ambiguity and ad-hoc requests.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of MS Office tools such as PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, preferred.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance, or related field preferred; Advanced degrees (e.g. MBA, MSc) or PMP certifications are advantageous.
