The Fulfillment Optimization (FO) team automates and optimizes decision-making for this network. The FO Finance team is seeking a Finance Manager to support the Fulfillment Optimization team. They will be responsible for providing financial support for fulfillment projects that drive multi-billion dollar fulfillment decisions. This role will partner closely with teams of data scientists, economists, machine learning specialists, software developers, and product managers who lead the industry in the development of innovative algorithms and optimization strategies to maximize long term growth and profitability of Amazon’s Consumer business. The candidate will be responsible for financial planning inputs and explaining output of scientific models that drive worldwide network transportation design and connectivity decisions to support key planning targets. This includes developing a deep understanding of cost inflection points and their associated financial tradeoff curves.Key job responsibilities
Leading cross-functional teams through partnership with Operations and Finance teams to drive both short-term incremental improvements and long-term strategic changes to our fulfillment network and optimization software
Root cause issues quickly and uncover core issues using data, then assist, consult with, and teach the business how decisions affect costs and create new mechanisms as they are needed
Partnering with finance leaders across Amazon to design and execute programs to drive value
Communicating financial and business results to senior business leaders
Basic Qualifications
BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)
5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market.
