The Team You Will Join This role is with a very diverse and dynamic team of Corporate Financial Planning and Projection (Corporate FP&A) department within Metlife. Corporate FP&A is responsible for leading firmwide planning and projection processes, management reporting and performing strategic analyses of the Firm's global businesses to support strategic decision-making. Corporate FP&A supports and interacts with Firm leadership and responsible for the key deliverables to Board of Directors and Senior leadership. Additionally, Corporate FP&A collaborates closely with Business lines and their Finance teams, Investor Relations, global Controller teams, Treasury, Capital and the Risk Department.The Opportunity The Finance Manager is responsible for understanding the business plans and their relationship to the financial arena and interpretation of financial and industry trends and impact to key metrics across the globe. The person will be responsible for supporting Enterprise GAAP/STAT monthly financial projection and annual plan reporting activities. The role will serve a critical function in pulling together Firmwide narratives on forward-looking projections, analytical and strategic support to the Head of FP&A. The role entails leading special projects, crafting senior-level presentations, conducting analysis, creating data visualizations, and developing strategic decision-making models. Candidates must have proven experience clearly communicating results orally and in writing and should be strong problem solvers.How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
Understanding of business plans and their relationship to the financial arena and interpretation of financial and industry trends and impact to key metrics.
Strong collaboration with cross-functional areas to consolidate information in a consistent and timely manner and drive continuous improvements for stakeholders (FP&A, Investments, SEC Reporting, Investor Relations, Controllers, Treasury, Enterprise Finance Reporting)
Collect, consolidate and provide data and variance analysis to support projections, business plan, and actuals for key financial indicators presented to the CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors.
Lead process improvements to further automate reporting, strengthen internal controls, and maintain data integrity.
Responsible for recording both new and current policies/procedures related to financial consolidation and effective governance procedures.
Manage corporate calendar and ensure timeliness of key deliverables and guidance.
Manage and oversee ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor degree in accounting, Finance or other related fields
Results driven professional with a minimum of 6 years accounting, reporting, analytics or finance experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages; advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience working in Sharepoint
What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)
Experience with financial reporting systems (Hyperion Financial Management, EPBCS, and SmartView)
Knowledgeable in the company’s products and businesses and be able to effectively apply this knowledge to initiatives in their area of expertise
