Clinical/Technical/Service
Processes, retrieves and files all x-ray films and examinations
Processes films and folders according to film library protocols on manual or automatic DECRAD systems
Updates information in and retrieves information form the radiology information system (DECRAD) by using terminals, printers and bar-code readers
Changes ribbons and paper supplies for the DECRAD printers
Obtains the film studies from the darkroom and prepares them for interpretation and comparison by the radiologist. To accomplish this, old films must be located and obtained from the file room and collated with the new films
Sorts and lists films according to those read and unread, and by location of the patient
Files the updated film record after it has been read by the radiologist; prepares new envelopes for the x-ray film; must read the requisition in order to note on the folder the anatomical region examined
Sorts and files x-ray films and requisitions in alphabetical or numerical order
Maintains patient rosters (ballroom census)
Answers telephones, processes inquires for film library services (pulling films, searching files for records, releasing films for copies)
Proos requisitions and film file jackets for accuracy
Posts entries in the appropriate film library records
Operates tele-autowriter and other film library equipment for processing of film records and maintenance of ballroom census
Provides assistance to physicians for locating films on various alternators
Utilizes admission and medical records information to collate film records and maintain ballroom census
Retrieves records from the 3rd floor and other storage areas
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned area

The salary range for the role is $23.1556 - $25.201 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
