The Ultra-High Net Worth (UHNW) resources group branded as Family Office Resources (or “FOR”) is within Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management division and is responsible for providing specialized expertise, platforms and experiences to UHNW Financial Advisors and their Clients/Prospects across a broad range of family wealth management issues, strategic estate & financial planning, philanthropy management, family governance, wealth education, and wellness and lifestyle advisory. Within the FOR department, the Field Engagement team is responsible for being the first point of contact for Financial Advisors and UHNW Clients/Prospects to:

1) Learn about Morgan Stanley’s differentiated services for UHNW Clients/Prospects

2) Receive end-to-end UHNW Client solutions through a three-step process

a. Diagnosis of Client/Prospect needs using a proprietary framework

b. Creation of a customized plan to tackle UHNW needs

c. Curation of a team of Morgan Stanley specialists who execute on plan Today, FOR has almost 70 professionals dedicated to the different areas of expertise. Six of them are part of the Field Engagement team that manages the pipeline of Financial Advisors and their Client/Prospect opportunities.As a FOR Associate, you would primarily be responsible for: Vetting new requests for FOR services by reviewing the intake form, assessing Advisor/Client/Prospect eligibility, and understanding Client/Prospect needs

Educating our Financial Advisors on the capabilities of Family Office Resources and the process for engagement

Connecting Financial Advisors to their regional FOR Generalists or other specialists that can assist them in serving their Clients/Prospects

Assisting the FOR members in:

o performing deep client discovery and profiling

o strategizing with Financial Advisors on customized strategies for Clients/Prospects

o working with subject matter experts across the firm to craft implementable solutions for Clients/Prospects

o meeting with Financial Advisors and their Clients/Prospects to explain recommendations along with alternate approaches

o maintaining Client/Prospect information in Client Relationship Management tool

o creating and updating client/prospect files and folders in the system

Partnering with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and policy owners to ensure our processes and procedures are in alignment with firm standards

Maintaining partnerships with other specialists across the firm who provide services to the UHNW Client/Prospect

Leveraging outputs of Client Relationship Management tool to measure impact and craft presentations for senior leadership

Researching new content and developments in the UHNW Wealth Management space to create new white papers and presentations

Spearheading planning for external events (Family Legacy and Governance Institute, Heckerling, etc.) to promote FOR as a leader in the UHNW spaceQUALIFICATIONS: 2-4 years of work experience

B.A. required, CFP or other advanced designation (e.g., CPA, MBA, JD) preferred

Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, analytical and problem-solving skills – individual will have extensive interaction with advisors and clients

A demonstrated commitment to both partnership and teamwork, and initiative to proactively address advisor and client situations as they arise; wire-house experience a plus
