OR BE IMMEDIATELY REACHABLE ON EXAM NO. 1121.The Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender Based violence formulates policies and programs; monitors the citywide delivery of domestic violence services; and works with diverse communities to increase awareness of domestic violence. The New York City Family Justice Centers are one initiative of ENDGBV, established in collaboration with the District Attorney’s Offices in each borough, other City agencies, and community-based organizations.The Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender Based (ENDGBV) is seeking one (1) Administrative Director of Social Services to function as a Director of Survivor Engagement.The Director of Survivor Engagement oversees ENDGBV’s engagement with survivors to ensure the office is incorporating the voices and experiences of survivors into its work, engaging with and connecting City agency employees who identify as survivors/victims of domestic and gender-based violence (dv/gbv) to resources and supports and connecting early with clients who are engaged in the criminal justice process. The Director will spearhead the office’s work with ENDGBV’s VOICES Committee, oversee the office’s engagement with city agency workers through Executive Order 85 (EO 85) and support the City’s Early Victim Engagement (EVE) initiative. ENDGBV’s VOICES Committee is a survivor-led group that aims to serve as a voice of hope and change for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence throughout New York City. VOICES members share stories and experiences to raise awareness of dv/gbv and its impacts, engage in outreach to affected communities, and make recommendations for improved systemic responses. ENDGBV’s work implementing Executive Order 85 (EO 85), requires every New York City agency to appoint a Domestic and Gender-Based Violence Workplace Liaison (DV/GBV Liaison) to confidentially connect employees to trauma-informed resources responsive to domestic and gender-based violence. ENDGBV provides guidance and support to these liaisons through training and connecting city agency staff to Resource Coordinators who can connect them to resources and supports. EVE is a victim engagement program run in partnership with the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office, the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, and the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice. EVE provides critical information to victims of intimate partner violence at the time of the abusive partner’s arrest to enhance safety and a survivor’s understanding of the next steps in the criminal justice system’s response and connect survivors to services.The Director of Survivor Engagement will perform the following duties:

Oversee ENDGBV’s VOICES Committee and Survivor Engagement in Community.

Create ongoing forums for survivor engagement in order to ensure survivor feedback is

incorporated into ENDGBV’s initiatives and in the office’s efforts to enhance system collaboration.

Support the work of ENDGBV’s Voices Committee by working in close partnership with survivor

members to plan and facilitate ongoing monthly VOICES meetings and subcommittee meetings, hear regular feedback from survivor members on ENDGBV initiatives, plan and coordinate VOICES outreach events, oversee ongoing professional development trainings and presentations for VOICES members and provide ongoing support to survivor members.

Identify funding sources to pay survivor members on VOICES for their work and oversee the

implementation and reporting on all grants that fund the work of VOICES.

Perform community outreach events with VOICES members including evening and weekend

events, as needed.

Coordinate high risk client referrals to the FJC’s.

Support the Implementation of Executive Order (EO).

Supervise and direct the work of the two (2) EO 85 Resource Coordinators who will engage with

and support City agency staff who identify as survivors of DV/GBV.

Provide ongoing training and support to the EO 85 Resource Coordinator to ensure they are

effectively able to connect City agency staff to appropriate resources and support.

Work closely with ENDGBV Policy and Intergovernmental staff to support the training, outreach

efforts and implementation of EO85 at every City agency.

Support the Early Victim Engagement (EVE) Project:

Support the work of the EVE Project partner agencies to effectively implement the goals of the

project and maintain collaborative and cooperative relationships.

Work closely with all EVE Project partners, the FJC’s and the City’s strangulation response

roundtable planning committee members and survivors to enhance the City’s response to high-risk strangulation cases including supporting the work of the roundtable.

Perform other duties at ENDGBV as needed.

Work Location: 253 BroadwayHours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience, including one year at the administrative or managerial level in a large governmental agency, business firm, civic or community organization operating in the area of social services; or

Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and the one year of experience at the administrative or management level as described in "1" above.
