Each year, we power billions of transactions through our global payments network, serving our Issuing and Acquiring businesses in more than 170 markets worldwide.Reporting to the Vice President of Network Card Solutions, the Director of Network Business Planning & Partnerships will lead a team responsible for understanding the competitive landscape, identifying opportunities for new products and features, as well as pursuing partnerships that unlock new and existing opportunities. Additionally, this team will be responsible for network governance, including data & reporting through Enterprise forums with senior stakeholders.The Director of Network Business Planning & Partnerships will be responsible for driving the following activities:

Manage a team to help create and support initiatives that drive network strategy and growth

Continuously monitor and synthesize industry trends and competitive intelligence to inform product strategy

Identify and pursue new network-wide opportunities based on external and internal developments

Build, manage, and support strategic partnerships, applying best practices to ensure the network is delivering best-in-class experiences across its products

Own and manage partnerships to drive continued improvement and growth

Establish and monitor overall network performance (KPIs, scorecards, etc.)

Support the creation of material for Enterprise forums with senior stakeholders across all business units

Stay informed of Enterprise initiatives and connect the dots across all network products

Support urgent and important strategic initiatives with thought leadership and drive stretch projects

Minimum Qualifications

Relevant experience: Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and track record of developing frameworks in white space. Consulting experience preferred.

Leadership Skills: Strong track record of leadership, both in building high performing diverse teams, as well as creating followership.

Executive Communication Skills: Outstanding communicator with ability to distill complex topics into clear and concise messages, adapted appropriately for the audience. Excellent Powerpoint skills and storytelling.

Relationship Management: Consistent track record of establishing, developing, and leveraging partner relationships. Strong negotiation skills.

Thought Leadership: Strategic and innovative mindset, with the ability to synthesize and translate market and industry trends into opportunities for AXP to drive innovative solutions.

Entrepreneurial Mindset: Ability to spot new trends and opportunities, develop a business case which others can be persuaded to support, and overcome objections and obstacles in making the vision a reality.

Highly collaborative: Ability to collaborate, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver value beyond traditional means.

Intellectual curiosity: High intellectual curiosity, with excellent creative and critical thinking and problem-solving skills and ability to deal with ambiguous or undefined problems.

Great attitude: High energy, an optimistic attitude, and a good sense of humor.

QualificationsSalary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
