This team specialize in providing corporate tax provision and compliance services to multinational public and private companies, with an expertise in ASC 740 accounting for income taxes. Due to our tremendous growth, we're seeking a Director to join our team.What Will You Be Doing?As a Director within Federal Tax you will: Manage tax provision preparation projects for quarterly and annual reporting for both SEC registrants and private entitiesManage U.S. tax compliance projects for multinational, public, and private equity portfolio companiesManage risk, resources, staffing and financial performance for multiple engagements at once including billing, collections and project budgetsAdvise clients on income tax accounting aspects of complex transactions, including IPO readiness, acquisitions, corporate restructurings, restatements, and post-bankruptcy fresh start accountingLead special projects in specific technical areas such as corporate transactions, tax basis balance sheets, valuation allowance assessment, accounting for uncertain tax positions, indefinitely reinvested earnings assertion, outside basis differences, and share-based paymentsReview clients' income tax accounting processes and internal controls for assessment of risk and remediation actionsIdentify key tax issues and accurately quantify the impact to in a clear, concise, and thoughtful analysisBuild client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businessesConduct day-to-day management of accounts to ensure delivery of timely and accurate work productSupervise, develop, mentor, and motivate our Associates, Senior Associates and Managers by actively participating in their advancement through on-the-job training, providing performance feedback, counseling, and fostering our team-based atmosphereManage workload and deadlines for Associates, Senior Associates, and Managers with a focus on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the project teamsDemonstrate commitment and desired behaviors while working with others that have diverse experiences, skills and perspectivesRegularly supports business development efforts. Click to learn more about why A& M is a great place work.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting5 years' experience with accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and corporate tax compliance with demonstrated ability to resolve all common and many complex technical issuesCPA or Licensed AttorneyPrior proven experience leading others while managing multiple work streamsDemonstrated success as a trusted tax and business advisor: building relationships, identifying and addressing client needs, and delivering high quality deliverablesPassion for training and mentoring staffExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish credibility and influence clientsExcellent research, writing, and analytical skillsAdvanced user of all Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel)Experience with OneSource Income Tax and OneSource Tax Provision preferredAbility to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlinesHigh motivation to learn and grow and actively identify trends and new ideas for enhancing solutions and approachesDetail-oriented and possess strong organizational skillsRegular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD& D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The amount of vacation and personal days available varies based on tenure and role type. In addition, A& M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.
