General InformationJob Title: Dir/AVP - Search & InsightsFLSA status: ExemptDivision: L’OREAL LuxeSupervisor Title: Head of Consumer ConnectionsLocation: New YorkDate: 1/4/21Job Summary:The Head of Search & Insights leader is responsible for the vision and strategy for search marketing and search engine optimization (SEO) across the Luxury division at L’Oreal USA. Under the direction of this individual, the Search & Insights team is responsible for setting the “beat the algorithm” strategy to drive traffic and growth across multiple channels including Brand direct-to-consumer websites, digital retailer channels, and organic search engine strategy. Using data-driven insights to drive traffic and conversion, this individual will guide the conceptual and technical execution of search insights across each brand’s platform for consumers. This individual will build and lead execution teams that span multiple facets of search strategy: SEO(on-page, off-page and technical), eRetail Search and Amazon search. This leader serves as the key subject matter expert regarding digital search & insight best practices and on-going industry trends. We are looking for a consumer-focused, analytical serach marketing professional who is a skilled communicator and has a proven track record of building and scaling organic search strategies, ideally across a portfolio of brands.This role drives collaboration and influences multiple levels of leadership to execute on the following key deliverables to support the development of customer-centric programs that drive profitable, long-term relationships:Lead and manage a group of direct reports that oversee the teams managing search engine optimization (SEO) for Brand’s direct-to-consumer channel, retail search strategy and Amazon search strategy.Upskilling the organization in organic search, consumer insights and all measurement tools supporting search marketing. This leader should be able to take on a strategic viewpoint, but also be able to dig in and be hands-on as well when necessary.Oversee the development, implemention, and optimization of effective search engine optimization (SEO) strategies, including keyword analysis, content strategy, and technical improvements across multiple channels.Work in a collaborative partnership cross-functionally to ensure that insights are properly executed cross-channels for short term optimization oppurtnities.Work in a collaborative partnership with brand marketing teams to ensure that consumer and serach insights are being cascaded and actioned across the organization to impact longer term oppurtunities (campaigns and product development).Develop the plan that will lead to strategic recommendations across brands for content that will drive organic and paid search traffic.Partner with head of sales to align on retailer objectives, and ensure alignment in strategic priorities to support goals.Provide support to CDO, GMs & site managers to fuel eCommerce profitabilityThis individual will work closely across our portfolio of brands with the Product Marketing teams, Sales, the national retail acceleration directors, the direct-to consumer site lead. This individual will collaborate with these stakeholders to drive data driven strategy and initiatives.Job Requirements:BS/BA degree required5-7+ years of relevant industry experience in Search & Insights marketing role; consumer marketing preferredProven track record driving paid search strategies and maximizing search KPIsExperience working hands-on with popular PPC ad platforms (Google AdWords, Bing AdCenter, etc).Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JSIn-depth experience with bid management tools (e.g., Click Equations, Marin, Kenshoo, Search Ignite)Well-versed in performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisitionUp-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in search marketingDemonstrated strength in communication with an ability to motivate and influence across the organization cross-functionally.Proven change agent.Experience managing a team with varying levels of technical & operational expertise.Affinity and relevant experience in beauty and personal care brands is a plusSelf-motivated, results and solution oriented, strategic thinkerStrong time management and prioritization skillsJudgment and Decision Making:This role will require a strong leadership presence as well as in-depth expertise to develop a consumer-centric strategy for search & insights. It requires constant interaction across a matrixed business structure (Marketing, Ecommerce, GM, CMO) to coordinate work and deliver objectives.
