HPD is entrusted with fulfilling these objectives through the goals and strategies of “Housing Our Neighbors: A Blueprint for Housing and Homelessness,” Mayor Adams’ comprehensive housing framework. To support this important work, the administration has committed $5 billion in new capital funding, bringing the 10-year planned investment in housing to $22 billion the largest in the city’s history. This investment, coupled with a commitment to reduce administrative and regulatory barriers, is a multi-pronged strategy to tackle New York City’s complex housing crisis, by addressing homelessness and housing instability, promoting economic stability and mobility, increasing homeownership opportunities, improving health and safety, and increasing opportunities for equitable growth.Your Team:The Office of Enforcement and Neighborhood Services (OENS) leads the agency’s effort to work closely with other HPD divisions and outside community partners to identify buildings in distress, assess and develop appropriate strategies to address those properties and work closely with responsible owners to develop a plan to improve conditions and return buildings to firm financial footing and physical health. OENS uses enforcement tools within its Division of Code Enforcement, Housing Litigation Division, Emergency Operations and Enhanced Enforcement, and the Division of Neighborhood Preservation to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.The Office of Enforcement and Neighborhood Services is composed of six divisions: Data Management & Technology (DMT), Division of Neighborhood Preservation (DNP), Administration & Internal Compliance (AIC), Housing Litigation Division (HLD), Division of Code Enforcement (DCE), and Emergency Operations and Enhanced Enforcement Division (EOD). Your Impact:Under general supervision, the selected candidate will be responsible for assisting with various administrative activities related to the necessary repairs for the improvement of poor housing conditions through the Emergency Repair Program. Your Role:Your role will be a Clerical Support/Community Associate in the Environmental Hazard Unit in the Emergency Operations and Enhanced Enforcement Division. You will be responsible for, but not limited to the following. Your Responsibilities:

Perform clerical functions such as answering telephone calls, relaying detailed messages, file attachment, maintaining records, filing, updating spreadsheets, and other computer related duties.

Perform data entry, downloads picture image from photo cameras and attaches digital pictures accurately (picture imaging) to specific violations or work orders.

Interface with tenants, and/or co-workers regarding lead, mold, general construction, and emergency repair violations and/or work orders pursuant to program procedures.

Perform call back functions, such as scheduling appointments with vendors, tenants, or building management for field inspections and re-inspections as required or necessary.

Perform daily routing of violations or work orders for inspector field assignments.

Monitor and perform assigned tasks from HPD EVTM computerized mailboxes, processing and updating violations or work order records including creation and maintenance of physical files.

Responsible for tracking, maintaining accurate up to date computerized mailboxes of work orders awarded to Vendors. Respond to inquiries from contractors.

Monitor the status of the work order to ensure completion in a timely fashion and prepares inspection packages through EVTM for re-inspection.

Act as a liaison to Program in obtaining necessary documents such as Access Orders or Access Warrants from Housing Litigation Unit.

Finalizes OMO’s based upon Affidavits of “Completion” and “No Access” and processes work orders for field re-inspection.

Scan affidavits and or other program related documents in HPD EVTM database

Perform any other Admin clerical work as required based on Unit need

Note: Selected candidates may be assigned to work evenings and weekends.QualificationsQualification Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or

Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
