Under general direction, the incumbent operates and maintains bindery equipment, copy, cutting and folding machines. Responsibilities include assembling, affixing grommets to vinyl banners, drilling, gluing, folding, cutting, and binding printed material. The incumbent will load, and unload materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment and must consistently adhere to safe work practices. If necessary, the selected candidate will receive onsite training in operating the Summa Digital cutter. Must be available to work Sat/Sun if needed. Note : Job performance requires the ability to lift 25-40 pounds repetitively. In addition, the candidate must be willing to work rotation shifts, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate. Education and Experience
Must have two years of experience as a bookbinder and meet the following minimum qualifications.
A four-year high school diploma or its education equivalent and one year of satisfactory full-time experience in operating various commercial grade machines which assemble, drill, glue, fold, cut and bind printed material; or
Three years of satisfactory bookbinding experience operating various commercial grade machines as described in “a” above; or
Education and/or experience equivalent to “a” or “b” above.
Education must be approved by a state’s department of education or a recognized accrediting organization.
