We employ dedicated engineers, managers, support staff, laborers and adopt cost-savings and efficiency, while maintaining the highest standards of excellence and service to safety and quality.The selected candidates will oversee the daily operations of the Citywide Concrete (CWC) Unit, including but not limited to the pedestrian ramp installation and upgrade and safety improvement projects; supervise both supervising and field staff; attend pre-construction meetings with the Directors and engineering staff to prioritize and ensure projects are completed; assess if there are any requirements needed and set project deadlines; inspect, direct and ensure that all projects follow the provided drawings and is completed on time; prepare weekly reports and monitor overtime on projects to CommissionersPreferred Skills:Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of concrete operation and related equipment, materials and tools; experience reading MPT blueprints.QualificationsFour years of full-time satisfactory experience as a working member of a roadway or bridge/tunnel maintenance and repair crew using asphalt and concrete mixes; and/or performing such tasks as debris/bulk removal; mechanical sweeping, drain/scupper cleaning on bridges/tunnels or related structures, at least two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. In addition to meeting the minimum Qualification Requirements above: To be assigned to Assignment Level II, the candidate must have at least one year of experience working in Assignment Level I or an additional year of experience as described above under "Qualification Requirements", at least three years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver License valid in the State of New York with no restrictions on the use of air brakes.
