Junior Project Manager

HEINI, a construction studio specializing in the development, design, fabrication, and installation of experiences and temporary environments, is currently seeking a Junior Project Manager to assist our senior project managers and the Manager of Operations in overseeing and coordinating temporary architecture and event projects. While creative work may occasionally be part of the role, the primary focus will be on assisting with controlling budgets, managing critical paths and schedules, conducting materials research, site management, site maintenance, scheduling trucks and labor, and inventory management.

Responsibilities:

- Assist senior project managers and the Manager of Operations in planning, organizing, and executing projects.

- Control project budgets and ensure adherence to financial constraints.

- Manage critical paths and schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.

- Conduct materials research and procurement / returns as needed.

- Oversee site management and maintenance activities.

- Coordinate scheduling of trucks and labor for project delivery and execution.

- Manage inventory of client assets

- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success.

- Provide support for any creative work associated with projects, as needed.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field preferred.

- Previous experience in event production, set design, design project management, FF&E procurement, interior design, or a design-build company is a plus

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Must be able to work independently and manage time without much oversight

- Must be willing to work long hours during project installs, including nights and weekends for a few weeks a year

Responsibilities:

- Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.

- Collaborate with project teams, including architects, designers, construction teams, and vendors, to ensure smooth coordination and communication.

- Support the monitoring of project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring projects are completed within approved financial parameters.

- Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and contributing to client satisfaction.

- Contribute to identifying potential risks and participate in developing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

- Assist in implementing and enforcing quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet HEINI's standards and client expectations.

- Collaborate in managing project timelines, milestones, and deadlines to ensure the timely delivery of all project components.

- Support the efficient allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project performance.

- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, project plans, and change orders.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

- Entry to mid-level experience as an Assistant Project Manager, preferably in the construction or events industry, demonstrating a commitment to learning and growing in the role.

- Good written and verbal communication skills to contribute effectively to project updates within internal teams and with clients.

- Developing organizational and multitasking abilities to assist in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

- Developing problem-solving skills to address issues that may arise during project execution.

- Ability to collaborate and support project teams in achieving project goals and objectives.

- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and contribute to resolving unexpected challenges.
