Job Description:
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will support the estimating department by assisting in the preparation of cost estimates for various construction projects. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and career development within our company.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive estimates.
Collaborate with senior estimators, project managers, and other team members to gather necessary information.
Perform quantity take-offs and create detailed estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
Research and source pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
Maintain and update cost databases and historical cost records.
Prepare and present estimate reports and supporting documentation.
Participate in project site visits and pre-bid meetings as required.
Assist in bid submission processes and follow up with clients as needed.
Support the continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
2-5 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Team player with a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
