Pre-K Assistant Teacher
Looking to hire immediately:
An assistant for our Pre-K classroom. Must be fingerprinted by the DOE or willing to get it done ASAP.
Your job will be to provide assistance to the Lead Teacher for our Pre-K classroom. Our center is DOE contracted and we are provided with the curriculum. You will also be responsible for taking over the classroom in the event of the lead teacher's absence.
Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Serving breakfast, lunch and snack to the children while practicing safe handling
- Observing children as they play, interact with them and encourage them to engage in conversation
- Assisting with toileting and potty training
- Observe children during rest time
-Work hours are 8:30-5:30 with a one hour lunch, must agree to these hours
Must have training or be willing to obtain immediately upon hire:
- Sudden Infant Death
- Shaken Baby Syndrome
- Infectious Disease
- Mandated Reporter
Assistant Teacher requirements:
-MUST have HS diploma or above (please do not respond if you don't at least have a high school diploma or equivalent)
-At least 2 years experience in a childcare setting
-English speaker a must/bilingual is a plus
-Team player
-Punctual
-Must have DOH fingerprints or be willing to be fingerprinted and go through background check
-Work hours are from 9am to 6pm with a one hour lunch, must agree to these hours
You will be assisting in a classroom of 2-3 year olds, assisting in toileting and potty training, changing diapers, serving breakfast, lunch and snack while practicing safe handling, cleaning, observing children during play and rest time, engaging with them, etc.
