Position Overview
We are seeking an innovative and passionate Music/Drama/Literature Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the performing arts and literary studies, a dedication to student success, and the ability to create an engaging, interdisciplinary classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with NYS Next Generation Learning Standards.
- Foster a love for music, drama, and literature in students through dynamic instruction and performance opportunities.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback across artistic and academic domains.
- Encourage creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking in the classroom.
- Direct student performances, readings, or showcases that celebrate artistic and literary achievement.
- Participate in collaborative planning with colleagues and contribute to school-wide arts and literacy initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Theater, English, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Teaching certification in New York is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and inspiring students through the arts and literature.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
