Innovative, nurturing Reform Jewish preschool in Brooklyn Heights seeks an enthusiastic, creative, and warm assistant teacher for the 25-26 school year. Candidate must have at least 2 years of full-year preschool classroom experience, with an Associates or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Familiarity with Jewish Holidays a helpful, and willingness to learn and teach about the Jewish Holidays is required. Familiarity and experience with Reggio Emilia, and Project Approach preferred. We follow all DOHMH guidelines and often exceed them for safety. Teachers work late August through early June (they work about 10 months and are paid for the year over 12 months; summer work is optional and pays extra). Working schedule 8:15am-2:30pm. Offers excellent health insurance (employees make a small monthly contribution and BHS takes care of 90%). Teachers also have opportunities to supplement pay with work in our summer programs, enrichment classes, etc.
Teachers must be able to show proof of full vaccination for COVID.
Our assistant teachers are full members of a team of 3 teachers to make the environment collaborative and nurturing of both children and teachers as the practice their craft. Many of our assistants go on to be head teachers and we are happy to mentor you as you grow and consider obtaining a further degree.
