The Bird House (birdhousenyc.com) is a New York Magazine and Time Out New York top NYC salon is the #1 Rated salon in Brooklyn on Yelp. We have two locations (Gowanus and Bushwick) and we are seeking a Receptionist to work at our Gowanus location. We are especially seeking cosmetology students who would start our proprietary Bird House University program on our reception team and earn their way to being behind the chair!
In this role, you would be responsible for:
welcoming guests in and checking them out
managing emails, phone calls, and text messages
managing the schedules of our stylist team when they need to reschedule their books
managing the vibe of the salon music, positive energy, a warm, and welcoming spirit are all a huge part of the job!
We seek someone who:
Brings a positive, kind energy.
Is organized and detail-oriented
Someone who can answer phones, manage and craft well-written and polite emails, and deal with all varieties of challenges with salon life. There's never a dull moment! Ability to multi-task with grace and friendly professionalism is a must.
