Portfolio Associate (Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) – New York, NY); Multiple positions available. Monitor portfolios to assist Portfolio Managers in rebalancing risks, hedging flows, managing account transitions, and providing operational support where necessary. Provide creative solutions and develop key tools and reporting methods to support the Portfolio Management team. Focus on operational implementation of fixed income strategies. Utilize proprietary risk systems for monitoring of portfolio exposures. Understand the trade lifecycle, escalate and resolve operational issues. Collaborate with Traders, Portfolio Managers, and Technology across our Emerging Markets regions. Perform day-to-day monitoring of trading systems. Triage problems, including trading outages, guideline compliance, market data issues, etc. and manage the control mechanisms of the trading system. Coordinate daily responsibility handover across time zones. Respond to ad hoc requests from the Portfolio Management Team.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in financial services. Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: Fixed income transactional knowledge across exchange traded derivatives and currencies; Cash and derivative instruments; Operating and providing analysis in complex financial markets; Interest rates, foreign exchange, derivatives, rolls and expiry processes, local market requirements; Excel; Portfolio risk management. Experience may be gained concurrently.
