Part-Time Investment Analyst – Cell Therapy & Immunomodulation in Type

Operating Philanthropy with a philanthropic mission to help find a practical cure for Type 1 diabetes (T1D) seeks an experienced sell-side or buy-side analyst for a part-time role in investment research and due diligence in the health sciences sector. This opportunity is ideal for former analysts who are not currently employed full-time but seek flexible, intellectually stimulating work while supporting this critical cause.

Responsibilities:

Conduct fundamental research and due diligence on public and private equity investments in the health sciences sector.

Identify and analyze companies advancing CRISPR/genetic, cell therapy, and immunomodulation solutions for T1D.

Screen the U.S. public and private equity markets based on key financial and non-financial criteria.

Develop a list of high-potential investment opportunities across various stages and structures.

Attend industry conferences where companies present to investors, share their pipelines, and discuss commercialization strategies.

Visit selected private and public companies to gather insights, assess long-term viability, and network effectively with key industry professionals.

Synthesize findings into investment research reports to be shared with investors and the T1D community.

Qualifications:

Prior experience as a sell-side or buy-side analyst with a focus on biotech, healthcare, or life sciences.

Strong understanding of equity research, valuation, and investment analysis frameworks.

Passion for fundamental investing and scientific innovation in diabetes research, cell therapy, and immunology.

Excellent accounting and financial modeling skills (CFA, CPA, and MBA a plus).

Ability to work independently and remotely, with occasional meetings in Midtown Manhattan as needed.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing investment pitches and reports.

Compensation & Work Arrangement:

Flexible, part-time hours (20-30 hours per week).

Primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings in Manhattan as needed.

Compensation: $50-$100 per hour, commensurate with relevant experience.
