Job Overview

This position is responsible for event and daily bookkeeping, HR support for the company, and office management. The ideal candidate will assist in accurate record keeping in Quickbooks and other accounting software and manage payroll, employee benefits, and new hire onboarding.

The candidate will be proactive, resourceful, highly organized, diligent, detail-oriented, efficient, a problem solver, and take initiative. In this role, you need to be a go-getter with experience handling confidential matters and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This person will oversee all aspects of office operations.

Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping

Typical work day includes:

-Update and maintain the general ledger.

-Daily bank reconciliation.

-Maintaining Account Receivable.

-Recording online sales and receiving payments.

-Maintaining Account Payable.

-Recording of debits and credits.

-Recording expenses and managing payments.

-Managing shipment of merchandise to customers.

-Invoicing.

-Travel to special events as needed.

-Produce financial reports and monthly statements.

-Handle month-end closing procedures (bank reconciliations, credit card statement review, etc.).

Administrative Tasks:

-Manage daily office operations, we have a small 10 person office.

-Order office supplies.

-Oversee the maintenance of office facility and equipment

HR Tasks

-Manage recruitment processes, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding

-Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations

-Develop and implement HR policies and procedures

-Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of HR best practices, federal/state/local regulations and statutes, and Company HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are fully considered before making HR decisions.

Requirements

-Proficient with MS Office products, namely Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

-Strong written and oral communication skills.

-Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure.

-Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

-Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.

-Minimum 2 years of experience as a Bookkeeper

-Good understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles

-Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

-Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and QuickBooks Desktop/Online

-Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting and finance records

-Ability to lift up to 25lbs.

-Work overtime as business needs deem appropriate.

MUST LIVE 30-45 mins from MANHATTAN. No remote.

The full-time position must be able to work over 40 hrs a week.

1+ years of customer service and admin work.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
