Req Number 134206Job DescriptionCoordinates and evaluates the Radiation Safety Program. Performs a variety of technical procedures in the application and delivery of radiation therapy, as prescribed by the physician.Job ResponsibilityCollaborates with the Radiation Safety Officer to develop policies and procedures, and education/training classes regarding radiation safety.Responds to Radiation Safety incidents and emergencies.Provides instruction to staff involved in incidents/emergencies on proper procedures.Submits written reports on cause of incident/emergency and makes recommendations for preventing future occurrences.Manages the campus-wide and off-site monitoring of staff radiation badges, including ordering and cancelling badges and obtaining radiation histories.Prepares quarterly summaries for Radiation Safety Committee meetings and discusses corrective actions.Manages and maintains radioactive materials orders and inventories to ensure compliance with license possession limits and inspects packages for damages and leaks.Manages the radioactive materials waste disposal program and centralized radioactive waste storage facility.Interacts with representatives from regulatory agencies and accreditation organizations, as required.Performs related duties as required.
