Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk in the telecom industry, located in New Hyde Park, New York. This role involves maintaining and processing accounts receivable records, and providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization.Responsibilities: Process and verify applications for credit and solicit payment on overdue accounts Compile necessary information from financial institutions such as banks and credit organizations Prepare, verify, and process invoices and coding payment documents Post receipts and updates, and reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and correctly posted Facilitate swift payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients Resolve valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries Resolve invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts, coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account, and verifying totals Prepare monthly receivables statements Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Receivable role or similar. Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) processes and principles. Strong understanding of accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations. Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Proven track record of successfully meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers. Proficiency in English and in MS Office, particularly Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of integrity and trustworthiness. Experience with accounting software, ERP systems, and databases. Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is preferred. Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
