With multiple accolades from U.S. News & World Report, and as one of the largest cardiac programs in New York State, SCHI has been named among the top 10% in the nation for cardiology services.STATUS: Full TimeLOCATION: Newark Wayne Community HospitalDEPARTMENT: Cardiac CareSCHEDULE: Flexible (Outpatient Coverage: Monday - Friday and/or Inpatient Coverage: Scheduled Weekends, Evenings & On-Call)LICENSURE Appropriate credential in echocardiography from: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).RESPONSIBILITIESUtilizes imaging protocols established by American Society of Echocardiography, ICAEL Echo Standards.Utilizes proper patient positioning techniques to obtain optimal image quality, and to avoid injury to patient and self.Manipulates imaging control settings (i.e. Gain, Focus, Focus Range, and attenuation) to obtain optimal imaging quality.Accesses preliminary diagnostic report attached to procedure to formulate a preliminary interpretation for the reading cardiologist, also provides preliminary comments for each structure examined.Obtains and provides previous echocardiographic studies, for reading cardiologist, for comparison with current study, if available. Programs and Procedures include:Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE)Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)Stress EchocardiographyTAVR, Mitraclip, VSD and PFO ClosuresActively Participating in Research StudiesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)PAY RANGE: $33.00 - $47.00The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
