Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Records Clerk in Mt Vernon, New York. The primary function of this job is to manage and maintain medical records in a healthcare setting. Responsibilities: Answering phone calls and handling requests for information from insurance companies and other parties. Utilizing Electronic Medical Record systems to access and manage patient records. Performing basic office tasks such as data entry and record keeping. Providing excellent customer service to all patients and healthcare professionals. Working with a multi-line phone system to manage incoming and outgoing calls. Ensuring all medical records are accurate and up-to-date. Adhering to all healthcare regulations and standards when managing patient records. Assisting with training activities, which may be conducted remotely. Proactively addressing any issues or discrepancies with medical records. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and departments to ensure efficient operations.Requirements Proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Record systems. Experience with answering multi-line phone systems in a professional manner. Demonstrable basic office skills, including filing, data entry, and document management. Ability to maintain and organize medical records in a confidential manner. Familiarity with medical terminology and coding is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance providers. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in a medical office or hospital setting is highly desirable.
