Req Number 144642Job DescriptionPerforms diagnostic cardiac ultrasound studies. Obtains two-dimensional cardiac images from patients using high frequency sound technology.Job Responsibility
Prepares patient for examination by explaining procedure and process.
Positions patient on examination table for specific testing procedure.
Transports and sets up echocardiogram equipment at bedside.
Performs echocardiography procedures, including transesophageal echocardiography, as required.
Monitors patient condition. Recognizes any motor abnormalities including fainting, discoloration, etc. and promptly reports to Radiologist.
Obtains satisfactory video recordings for physician interpretation.
Documents t+D8est results in patient's medical record and reports findings to physician. Discusses any need for further evaluation with physician.
Obtains pertinent radiological and diagnostic exam reports for physician for correlation with test being performed, as required.
Performs routine calibration checks and minor repairs to ultrasound equipment, as required. Recognizes and reports equipment issues to management for resolution.
Adheres to related policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Performs related duties, as required.
Job Qualification
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound OR Diagnostic Echocardiography program, required.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), required.
Prior related experience performing ultrasound exams, required. Experience in cardiac sonography, preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology and physics, required.
Ability to communicate effectively.
